Born and raised in New Jersey, RJ moved to Tucson in 2003 after graduating college and has never looked back. RJ has always had a passion for community work. In college, as the intramural sports director, he worked with the local YMCA to help supply them with coaches and mentors.
RJ has worked for the YMCA of Southern Arizona since 2004, starting at the front desk. In 2005 he moving into a full-time role as a program director. He oversaw youth and adult sports and youth programs. In March of 2019, he became the Executive Director and now serves and the Vice President of Impact and Engagement. His focus will be on continuing to make sure the YMCA’s impact grows for the kids and families in our community through membership and programs.
“It is just awesome to see kids that grew up in the YMCA coming back years later for their first job or volunteering to giving back.” He is thankful every day to have a job that allows him to have such a wonderful impact on the kids and families of his community.
RJ serves as the Volunteer Board Chair for Reach for the Stars, a local non profit that focuses on improving the mental health of kids through astronomy!
When he is not working or volunteering RJ enjoys playing basketball, golf, and poker, and spending time with his wife Taylor and son Chase.
RJ is thankful for this opportunity to give back to other local nonprofits and continue to make the Tucson community a better place for all.
