Angel Heart is in need of individuals and groups to help prepare, fold, ribbon, pajamas for distribution to children in over 80 agencies.

Community Gardens of Tucson volunteering jobs include: weeding, clean up, repairs, planting, spreading mulch, organizing tools, building raised beds, etc. When attending these events we recommend wearing close-toed shoes and sun protection, and to bring gloves if you have any (If not that is okay, the gardens usually have some extra pairs). Also ensure to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated while volunteering.

Shoes to Smiles is a program to help students in the Amphi School District who are most in need of new shoes. Volunteers meet a van full of Amphi students at a local shoe store and assist those children in choosing a pair of shoes plus socks. This is often the first time a child has been able to pick out their own new pair of shoes. While the new shoes are needed, the one-on-one attention that students receive from a caring adult is huge part of the experience. We ask volunteers to meet in the shoe department at 10:15 am and 10-12 students will join us at 10:30 am. Each volunteer will be introduced to a student, they measure the child’s shoe size, and begin to look for a new pair of shoes. Each event lasts around an hour. We like to have 8-10 volunteers at these events, but we can work with as few as 6 volunteers.

On 12/11 we need assistance moving all the holiday items from a large warehouse to the church venue, this involves quite a bit of heavy lifting. Once at the church, we need assistance setting up a gynasium with many tables filled with toys, blankets, stuffed animals, etc. We need helpers to assist the caregivers in picking out the items for the children and help with restocking to ensure all the tables are refilled as the distribution is ongoing.
